I have made up an HTML Form for my website for users to input data such as name, address, e-mail etc. What I'm having a problem with is submitting the data. I would like the data to be sent to an e-mail address, or possibly an excel data base (if that's possible), when they click the submit button. This is what I have now :
<form name="form1" method="post" action="mailto:email_address" value="Myemail@Myhost">My Form Content</form>
Am I at least on the right track here? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks....boheemee

Got it working with the action="Mailto:" .....guess the only way to get it to auto send the e-mail without opening Outlook Express is with server side scipting....Thanks for looking.

I keep having the same problem. I've made my form, got the submit button...

But every time I press submit, it opens in Outlook Express. I *just* want it to SEND directly from the website, I don't want to open in outlook express.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

Server side scripting is like making up an email without using an email program, on a mainframe I can generate email using a utility and parms like:
%XMITIP ( <User_Name/EmailPrefix@EMAIL.COM>) +
FROM NoReply@EMAIL.COM+
SUBJECT 'Whatever to Appear as Subject ' +
MSGDD INFILE
(The MSGDD refers to a DD called Infile, which would contain the message text).
This is likely somewhat different in HTML, but you get the idea - never let the system associate the entry with 'EMAIL' or the registry will Open whatever you associate with Email...

How do you make it not associate with EMAIL then? All that codish stuff you posted made no sense to me...I only know HTML and CSS, but not at expert level.

Is there some HTML code I can use to make this problem (email forms opening in outlook express) stop occurring? Thanks!
