I'm having a lot of trouble with port forwarding.
I've been trying to set up a VNC connection from work and a web server, so I'm looking at ports 5900 and 80. I'm using a USR8054 router, but i've also tried this on my Apple Airport Express router.
I don't know what the problem is, but I can't get my ports forwarding correctly at all.
When I'm connected within the network, of course, everything works fine. But when I'm working from a network outside my home network, the forwarding isn't working.
I know I have the right IP address, and I'm sure that I've set it up correctly in the router, so...
Is there something about port forwarding that I'm missing here? I'd really like to get this figured out, since I have a lot of free time and work where I'd like to be able to to access and use my home computer to do some of my freelance work, but it's just not happening for me.
I really appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Adam
