Gone wireless

Postby nascarfool.com » Mon Nov 29, 2004 6:15 pm

Woot ! ! NascarFool finally took the plunge and went wireless. Well, mostly wireless. I have one comp that still uses a lan cable but the rest of my machines went wireless today. I picked up a Linksys WKPC54G Network kit for Notebooks and a PCI wireless card for my main comp. The router came with a Wireless G Notebook adapter (for the wifes lappy) and my eMachines laptop has an onboard 802.11g card. It was pretty easy to setup and it works great ! !

congrats

I've been thinking about going wireless, my mom would definately like the wires running throughout my house gone.

how is the throughpuit on it? for me our router would be upstairs, and Im downstairs maybe 75ft or so away from it, not sure if I would have enough of a signal for lag free gaming and fast downloads

so if you have any sort of a setup like that, where there is some distance, let us know how good that is

and enjoy your wireless

My router says it has a 300 foot range. So far no problems. :D
