wireless network confusion

Postby itam1212 » Sat Nov 20, 2004 2:18 am

hello,

I want to install a small network between 2 desktops,
I've purchased Netgear 108 Mbps wireless router and pc card kit here
and another 108Mbps wireless pc card (WG511T) here

apprantly this PC cards are for notebooks, because i can't find any slot where i can insert the card onto the MOBO.
after realizing this i figured that i was suppose to get the Netgear wireless PCI card.... see here
the network on these 2 machines are the ones which r on the motherboard and there is no PCI network on either 1...

the questions is if there is another option or do i must buy the wireless PCI cards?

and is there a problem to use a cheaper brand PCI wireless card with the Netgear router?

thanks....

You need a PCI Wireless Network Card in each system or a USB Wireless Adapter

Netgear, Linksys and DLINK are the main 3 guys. They all tend to be around the same price.
