zonealarm free version, is this report normal?

hello all, i have installed the free version of zonealarm, i have looked at the control panel and it is reporting having stopped 750 access attempts on the inbound protection. is this normal?

Unless there is something there specifically worrying, I would say that sort of quantity if perfectly normal.

Friends have told me that everytime they login to Hotmail or MSN they get an alert that M$ is trying to gain access. This is probably a "Product Key" check on Windows or something. So they have an archive of thousands of alerts.

yeah sounds normal to me, you could look throught he logs and stuff to find out what it is or where it is comning from, such as a website, another comp or person trying to connect, cookies can sometimes do it, java or activeX controls can as well

I wouldn't worry about it much since they are being blocked until somehting weird starts happening to your comp to make you think its been compromised

Your internet service provider might try to contact your PC as a part of its normal routine - we have a cable company up here that does the came thing on the cable internet service.

42942 Intrusions have been blocked since install
2342 of those have been high rated

I've only had it installed a few weeks too

Keep in mind there are several programs like blaster and other junk rolling around on the net.
