Backups on Wireless Network

Post by meppwc »

I am looking for the best way to backup data from several machines that we have at our house.
The devices are all connected to my Uverse WiFi network.

My goal is to be able to backup data from any of our PCs to a device dedicated to providing a place to backup/restore data.
I already have the backup software (Allway Sync) that allows me to perform backups and restores.
I am guessing that I will need an additional PC that is on my WiFi network to accomplish this, in addition to, mapping to that device to a specific driver letter that Allway Sync requires.

I am not an expert in this area which is why I am reaching out for advice. In addition, I don't want to invest an arm and a leg into the machine that will serve as the repository.
The repository does not need to be fast because I will schedule the backups on each device.
