so, after 1.5 hours of cursing, reinstalling network adapters, some netsh int ip reset logfile.txt attempts I decide to give M$ a go and use the networking wizard to make a new wireless networking profile. Bingo!

What happened? They had forgot the WPA2-PSK code and reset the router, also setting a new WPA2-code. That was working on the other two systems (windows 7 and windows xp) but not on this one (windows xp).

Just to show it sometimes pays to do things the way M$ wants you to. Not very often though...
