Slow Apache Transfer Speed ** FIXED

Postby kevinloh » Thu Aug 20, 2009 2:14 am

I have an Apache Server at home for storing my files connected over commercial grade 100Mbps switch.

When downloading files through http over apache I always receive a transfer rate of 1.5MB/s, when I use another protocol such as FTP I can acheive 11+MB/s which my switch is capable off.

I have searched google for answers but to no avail. Does anyone here have experience with slow transfer in apache? My Apache server is only hosted on LAN network and it is handled by a desktop computer. There are enough memory and CPU processes at any time to process queries.

Solution :

In apache httpd.conf

By default it was :

#EnableMMAP off
#EnableSendfile off

The pound key disables the command removing the command made the server fly at 11MB+/s!

So it should look like
EnableMMAP off
EnableSendfile off
