anybody got an instruction for netwoking two computers, one with win7 on it and one with xp?
thanks.

EDIT had to set a password on my xp box for it to be seen from my 7 machine. this gives me access to my xp box from 7 box, but to do it the other way around???

Ensure all are in the same 'workgroup' name, and that the IP address is identical except for the last character group. Gateway address should be the same. You also would want to configure each system as PART of that workgroup, whether they need to be conversive with each other or not. Also check your Firewall setup.. ensure your LAN or networking setup is regarded as "safe".

10-4 on the 'waiting for this'. Seems like they're making expecting any kind of backwards compatibility a thing of the past. Maybe it's due; but come out and say it.

So far i have seen some nice features -- mostly the stuff that makes it more like a Mac, which you claim to despise. My apps won't run right, or there has to be a work-around, etc. I shudder to think what this is going to do out in the real world. There was a rumble when Windos XP 64 bit camr out, and no apps would work on it.

I want this to go well, because M$ has F**ked up so much and we're all still standing, but I am exhausted trying to keep up with all the new things, I swear.
