SMCWBR14T-G Extend Wireless network

Postby dve83 » Sat Jan 24, 2009 10:38 pm

Hi I need some help. I have the SMCWBR14T wireless router . I would like to connect an external antenna to it, point it in some direction in order to get hold of a friends wireless network (one out of many others available) and then have my pc connect to that network. How would I go about doing that?
SMCWBR14T has something called WDS (Wiress distribution service) which allows a network selected, to be extended and 'roam freely' within the area covered by the WDS. But how to I get my pc to connect to this extended network (either via LAN of Wireless). i just cant figure it. any help appreciated.

many many thanks in advance.
