Network Configuration problem, Reintalling 2Wire Home Portal

Postby sfzab » Sun Aug 24, 2008 12:29 am

I had initially my Internet connection configured as follows:

Modem > 2Wire Home Portal 100 W > Router > Computer

in Windows Vista Home Premium. On a certain occasion I
had problems accessing the Internet, and I had to unplug
the cables and I realigned to them as follows:

Modem > Router > Computer

Due to this the 0/S reset my Network configuration that
way, and I do not know how I could change it to work
as before.

I have worked several times with the Windows Vista menu

Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and
Sharing Center

but I have not been able to "undo" or cancel the second
Network configuration.

Your kind feedback will be highly regarded.

So you reconnected the portal in between the router and the modem? Then you need to re-configure the router and probably the portal. Not your computer.

I can not access the router using the browser with the present Network configuration.

Do I have to unplug any cables in a certain order?

Get someone in there with some experience on configuring a home network.
