Question about poor N performance

Postby Gongo » Fri Jun 27, 2008 7:50 am

On my Thinkpad I have an Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN card. I recently got a Linksys Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Broadband router. But when i go to video sites such as youtube, my performance is terrible. It's faster for me to walk over to the router, hardline it and download/ stream videos. I'm only 15 feet away through 2 walls (not concrete). Why is my wireless performance so crappy? do i need to buy a plug in "N" wireless card or is there something else wrong?

C**p performance is limited as much by the websites bandwidth as your LAN... Most video hosting sites are very popular, esp at certain times so downloading is really slllooooowwwww..... I personally have noticed no difference between wirless b and wireless g speeds even on normal usage...
I have been programming on computers since the ZX81.

Yet to some people I still know nothing...

I thought the same.. except that when I get fed up with the slow ass wireless, i hardline my self and download the data literally 25x faster.
