Looking for a gigabit switch

Postby ThEvil0nE » Sat May 24, 2008 5:48 pm

I need to connect 12 PCs to the internet. I have very limited knowledge switches.

Looking for:
16 port minimum
mostly used for multi-player online and lan gaming

Mobos I'm using has 10/100/1000Mbps onboard LAN. I also have a D-Link DGL-4100 gigabit router which I would be planing to use with the switch.

I was looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6833122139 but without vlan support. Do i need vlan support? What's best recommended? What other networking hardware/s do I need?

Thanx

that is perfect for your needs. as switches go, unless you have experience with them, go unmanaged. unmanaged = fire and forget. just plug in the PCs and go.
good luck
