more freezing whilst folding

well it is getting desperate and really annoying . couple of weeks back i had the pc freezing whilst folding . it resulted or so i thought in a bad stick of ram . well for the last two days it has been at it again . this is a folding only pc . i mean no gaming . i removed the bad stick of ram and only stayed with the 256 one . today i even put in a new more powerful psu . and its still at it again . i'm just about to give up . i dont see high temps , only as high as 55c depending on the time of the day . i need solutions before i try tomm another thing . my son has the same pc as in my sig . he also folds . only difference is that he only has one hard drive and a dvd rom drive . but i need clues or whatever .also any programs that can test hard drives and the cpu or chipset . anything

You can use Seagate's online or Desktop utilities to test your drives. Have you deleted the program core and downloaded a new one?

i have removed the program and reinstalled it . but still it freezes . i will try seagates utilities

would 14 critical file structure errors have this kind of effect

well i have been folding now for the last 24 hours without a glitch , touch wood . for this last week it is a record

. those 14 critical files were easily fixed using windows disk tools . i run another scan with seatools , including an eight hour surface scan which all came back negative .

i have formatted and installed windows and its flying . i think the problem was due to the faulty ram stick which happened a few weeks ago . the way i see it is this .

ram is used to store and receive and transmit data . when the ram became bad the data it was storing and transmitting wasnt true data but corrupted data . even though i had remove the ram stick the data it had already sent was already corrupted thus corrupting some programs including folding .

well thats the logical way that i think occured

i dont know if any of you have understood anything but anyway
