how much memory to fold?

is the 144Kb a typo or what? it was stated on the seti message boards that win95 needs 16mb min for the os, and win98 needs 24mb.

i think that the new ./FAH4.00-pre1 version w/ it's added checkpointing control feature would help get the data out of memory, and written to disk more frequently. perhaps a seperate partition, or even hdd for the page file to increase performance?

I find this list rather surprising - who would have ever thought win 2k pro wanted so much ram?

that's rather possible. After all, isn't win 2k pro designed to be run on terminals or office boxes, which ususally don't have 256 or more, especially when it was released?

i was gonna say, that 128Mb stick i just got loads win2K pro fairly well. will let you know how it works for folding in a bit.

have you ever added msconfig to win2k (to help making reduction of start up items easier)?

no sir, just the basics for me lol. have run msconfig in win98se and got alot of things out of the startup arena. how difficult is it?
