very easy to add. i have 2 versions in a download package w/ a brief install outline guide. i'm currently using the older "beta" version, and the newer must be the full released version that comes w/ winxp. it's also linked to at the mb.org folding team draft outline at my website:
http://www.frontiernet.net/~lenb/msconfig_win2k.zip

edit:
reference start up list to see what it's for, and if it can safely be unchecked:
http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_pa ... p_full.php

alternate source for msconfig (has a help file that can be added as well):

LEN444 you are right - it was a typo, it's got 144Mb not Kb.

If all media is checked and virus-free, and I have no need to connect PC to anything - why do I want the overhead of a virus checker (and another license, because it is a business machine and my business is 100% legit). It's already annoying how much needs to be spent on software (XP, Accounting, CAD, MS Works - OEM versions whenever possible, but all with legit licenses. The Digital edit stuff came with Cameras). another virus program is just another $50 and more overhead (I already tweaked XP to disable most network stuff and other unneeded services are also disabled or at least Manual start).

It processes digital data from a digital camera and Video data, along with CAD and Accounting - all entered by keyboard. So where would risk of virus come from ?

I tried copying the directory from the 'Internet' PC, but when it started it just said "unable to locate secondary work unit" and chewed on nothing.

I'll explore this forum for more info about 'transplanting' folding to faster PC...

Of course on the PC I connect to the Internet with I have Virus protection as well as a firewall.

even so...144 sounds like a strange number. usually it's like 32,64,128,256 are commen but i know other combinations are possible..just ever seen the 128+16 (or whatever combo) to come up with 144Megs. :D
