so am i . for a moment i thought i had lost it . i will be monitoring the times taken and compare them against some info i have which i jotted down from when i used the 3.24 version . i will also compare them against my sons pc which uses 3.24 and the same flags . once again thanks

what are the system spec's of your sons pc? if there are sse instruction sets on the cpu, then it'll make sense to upgrade to the 3.25beta on his comp as well. i suppose watch the comp (and server error codes which this thread is supposed to be about- :P ). add the gain in performance of your son's pc w/ the 3.25beta to the gain of yours, and you'll be climbing the charts! now if you'ld let the pc autodial the modem- check the "connections" (folding forum) thread as it deals w/ modem configuration. 5hrs of crunch time is a lot of time to be wasted while idle...

my sons pc is the same specs as mine , see signature . i have gained absolutely no perforamnce gain . it is doing the frames slower than my sons . my sons uses the3.24 graphical with flags advmethods forceasm . i'll give you an example . we are both doing the same wu p571

son (A) 8min 40secs per frame using 3.24 graphical with flags stated above
me (B) 10min per frame using 3.25 beta with flags stated above

:!: :!: :!: :!: any clues . i suppose i could go back to the 3.24

don't go back to the 3.24! first off, if you paused/ quit, and restarted the client, you would see that the rate it crunches at varies each time this is done! perhaps you haven't added the flags correctly? add the -verbosity 9 flag as well for increased output to the fahlog.txt file. what does it currently state in the fahlog file for your comp at the initialization point for this #571 wu? does it state the flags, or is there an error like "unrecognized flag"- is there an "extra sse speed boost ok" stated?

i'll add the -verbosit 9 flag to get extra info . it should look like this
"C:\Program Files\Folding@Home\winFAH.EXE" -advmethods -forceasm -verbosity 9 right :?: . to add that extra flag do i puase quit then add flag then restart it :?:

pause, quit, add flag(s), select apply, close window, then restart.

looks ok to me. time to let it crunch away!

btw, are you stopping FAH each day for maintenance? the reason i ask, is the 3.24 client will run the -forceasm for the first wu worked on, and at each client restart. only time that 3.25beta will outperform the 3.24 version is when it's left to crunch away w/ o closing FAH, and left to automatically send, and fetch wu's. this would then be the place that the 3.25beta version will outperform the 3.24 version due to the -forceasm flag sticking w/ the 3.25beta, and not w/ the 3.24 version (for each new wu fetched). perhaps you should consider letting the modem automatically establish a connection, and let the disconnect if inactive duration time out for a disconnect? 5 hrs is a huge chunk of time for a comp to sit idle you know!?!
