Just Ego Tulatin, I personaly prefer to see 1 prcessor pumping out twice as many WUs rather than 2 virtual CPUs with half as many WUs on the stats page.

Theres no advantage to running 2 clients on a hyper machine as each client runs at half the speed as running 1 client

But I will keep running 2 clients on both my Hyper machines as u do get a slight advantage with the variety of WUs u get.

So even though my processors used in a week shows as 5, I'm really only running 3 comps at the moment (soon to be 4 = 6 processors....2 hyper P4c comps and 2 AMD comps)

it has been stated that p4c hyperthreading will give about a 20% speed boost. i've seen reports that hyperhtreading w/ xeon's will give about a 6% speed boost.

Oh yes for sure my P4c 2.8 with hyperthreading turned on is faster than My P4b 2.8 but what I'm saying is that there's no real advantage running 2 clients on the P4c Hyper* as opposed to running 1 client on the P4c Hyper* because if u run 1 client it does it twice as fast as 2 clients

another way to state it, is the p4c will do 2 instances ~20% faster than a non hyperthreaded cpu doing the same exact 2 instances. of course all prerequisites for hyperthreading need to be met for the performance gain to be realized (hyperthreading= multitasking).

Experimenting with AMD comps are we now joshvee? :P

I'm ready for that challenge now so how about we hammer out the terms?

I've got a Barton running at 2200MHz and I'm prepared to give you a 50% CPU speed advantage @ 3.3GHz, one instance of the client running only and a 30 day time period for the challenge.

Further details such as how we co-ordinate the start time etc will have to be worked out.

Ready?

Amd VS. Intel Drag racing... this should be good. May the best folder win.

I'd say that's pretty generous Aussie
