Yeah something like that. So instead of going into the water cooler or to general or any other forum on the index, we just have one for teams. It can be down there by the news section or something. Figure if we can get it going now it would be less hassle then down the road if we had more teams. I'm sure mobocop would rather move just a few topics around then over 20 or so

That is very true... Look what i've done - by asking a simple question, creating a team and asking people to join it, i've given out site a new outlet of expression, and MoboCop potential hours of work...

they say windows is about 30% faster than linux, but this might be w/o considering the newer beta console version, and using the -forceasm argument/ flag. -forceasm gives about a 20% speed boost to a gromacs WU. tinker WU's won't use the sse optimization.

but if linux is more stable than windows, less system crashes, means more work units to return.

you can set up an instance/ cpu on a multi cpu machine. use the console version only for the multi cpu configs, and set a machine number for each cpu by setting the -config flag (needed for setting up the initial profile regardless of # of cpu's). you'll need the -local flag w/ a windows multi cpu box- this then points the console versions to the local folders- check at FAH forum/ web site if you need to configure a multi cpu system. Aussie's got a multi- cpu config- he can give some advice in that respect.

so you want me to create a new forum called folding at home? How about a more generic name that describes the subject in general?

Do you think there is enough activity to warrant a seperate forum?

How about "Motherboards.org Teams" forum or something along that line. So far things may only be small and starting out but as Tulatin pointed out, all of this started by asking to join a team. Their is already two topics in two different forums now and one of them is a sticky. Thats just with folding@home. Just think about how big it will become if we start other teams like seti@home, genome@home, d20l teams, and any others that we might get involved in. If you take a poll on this you might find alot of users that are involved in one if not more of the @home projects. This way it will give us a centralized area to compare stats and asking general questions.
