I believe you'll install from all three, and then you use whatever CD is dubbed the "play CD" to play the game.

I think it's a hassle to have all those CDs to deal with.

*cough* no-cd crack *cough*

Well Having played this most excellent game I would advise you to only install The first disk. (Morrowind) After you have completed the first game (it took me over 100 Hours) you should then install the other games. The reason I say this is because you need a good high level character to play the expansions or you will certainly get your virtual butt whooped.

Each program may require the CD as "authenticity" proof that you have the ownership. Sure, it is a hassle to switch disks every time, but this is a form of anti-piracy at work. You could have a multiple optical drive setup, with each one having a separate program disk.. the disk is installed from that specific drive, and the program will always revert to it. May be costly, to set up such a "library" of progamming access. Bear with it. The "Blue Shift" edition from Half-Life requires it, but not the other 4 programs in the Platinum Editon. Doom3 requires the disk. So do many others.

I have the game plus expansions. You install all three, then use the original Morrowind disc to play. The others don't require a disc.

Very good game though. Took over my spare time for several months

Install all three! You can visit whenever you want, but there are so many side quests, it'll get confusing...
Morrowind is a great game, I'm going through it a third time after not playing it for like over 6 months. I created a custom class that has major athletic and acrobatic skills, along with short & long swords and stealth. You can get all skills up, but I don't want to spoil it for you.

Just like Neverwinter NIghts. Install them all as they may have updated some models or quests in the later discs, and/or by having all the expansions installed the latest patch is avaialble which may fix All versions.

The only thing you have to lose is a little time to install it, and some hard drive space, but then it's all there waiting for you to play.

Also, there are a lot of fan made mods that bring a lot more to the game. Just don't get anything that will ruin the experience (some mods do that =p) until after you finish the game. Will be a lot more fun that way.
