I saw that you had the same motherboard I just ordered as well as a similar sound system to what I want. I know it will plug in and work, however, have you been able to run everything with games alright? Has the surround sound been good with EAX supportive games and DVDs? I know that Asus says that the board supports EAX 1.0+2.0, but I wanted to see want people who had it said. Send a PM I guess if you can.

I bought the Delux Version of the Board that comes with 5.1 surround sound. So i dont know what you got. Yes when you have surround sound its easier to tell where they are but headfones are always the best. Yes the DVD movies are awsome with 5.1.

You basically have a similar setup to mine, same board, similar video card, etc. Just wanted to see what someone with 5.1 speakers actually thought of the onboard sound.

Oh ya the onboard sound is good but if you wanted name brand go with the sound blaster. I havent been able to hear a difference really but the sound is good for the extra 30$
