Benchmarking with a P4S8X

Postby reecer » Wed Feb 26, 2003 12:41 am

I'm not sure where to stick this thread but I guess if they don't like it here they'll move it.

I ran a benchmark with 3dMarks 2001 SE and I only got about 7160. This was with 1280x768 32 bit with AA off I believe. Here is my hardware.

P4 2.4
P4S8X rev 1004
128 MSI Geforce 4 TI 4200 8x
Maxtor 120 GB @ 133 I think
512 Kingston PC2700

This is the first rig I have made so I'm a little fuzzy on how well it should run but I'm thinkin it should be better then that. My games run great so I'm not really to concerned about it. Nothing is overclocked either.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

If your games run great then you shouldn't be worried about a 3DMark score. This is why synthetic benchmarks are losing a lot of credibility.

If you want a better score, drop your screen resolution, push the memory timings in BIOS or get DDR400.

Cool man, thanks for the response. I ran it again shortly after I posted and got 7010. Whatever.

As long as SOF II runs great, no worries here.

Besides I heard that the 1004 revision of the board cut 10% performance off the board to make it stable. Oh well.
