Never had an issue with disconnects on Teamspeak here.

I bought a Game Voice "dohickey". It's Ok, but I have found that Team speak uses less bandwidth therefore creates less lag. I have also tried Roger Wilco and sometimes have a problem with it crashing. Have also installed and tested Pal Talk, but the pop-ups are a killer unless you're just chatting and not gaming. In my opinion the best bang for the buck (being free and better than the Game Voice which I paid $20 for) is Team Speak. And you can also use the game voice "dohickey" with Team Speak.

Yes Microsofts Gamevoice software uses quite a bit of bandwidth as I have tried it in the past as well. I currently just use the headset it came with now and not the actual voice pad. I am also using RW since a group of people I play with use it and it seems they have really done some tweaking on its programming and it runs better than it use to. I recommend Teamspeak and the newer updated RW for any gamer.
