Well there is little doubt in my mind as to the greatest game. I still play it frequently after about 5 years or so. I am amazed that no one has mentioned it. STARCRAFT - easily the best game developed.
Computers.... the cause of, and solution to, all of life's problems.

the whole gran turismo series on both playstations. I can never tire of a realistic car racing game. Currently I have a 100% completion of gt1 98% on gt2 and 90% on gt3 and 100% on gt concept. in total I have clocked over 400 hours of gameplay on the series.
next in line is Diablo2 with the Lord of destruction add on.

when you talk about games I currently own approx 60 or so covering all platforms and most consoles. don't have a gamecube and don't intend to get one.

Grr.... why recent??? I guess I would have to go with Diablo II.

If I could choose older games, I would go with the old 2D RPGs like Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger.
Hold that thought.

Empire Earth! There's just something about creating fleets with aircraft carriers that launch fighters. Mmmmmmm. Tomcats. B-52's with nukes!

There are truly too present I would say Quake 3 Arena - because there are sooo many maps (I have 100's here & there) and a bucketload of good mods...and multiplayer against your mates...there's nothing like railing someone in the back of the head when they're not looking... Apart from that I would say the original Doom series, hey the graphics were chunky...but those Arch-Viles and their twisted friends were pure evil......
