From what I've heard its kind of a disappointment. We sold a lot of copies where I work, but I don't think its going to last like WoW. My manager played it a long time ago and he said that it's one of those games thats cool for a while, but then you'd get over it in like a month, or even less.

I heard lots of good things about the game but I'm waiting for WAR.

Besides, my computer can't handle AoC.

I'm on Shadowblade and Bloodspire, full PVP servers. Basically depends on which group of friends i'm playing with.

on Shadowblade i'm Squirrelette, on Bloodspire i'm Squirrel. pretty low level still, but enjoying the game alot. In my book anything with full PVP and sieging is at least worth checking out

What are the specs of your system? Perhaps you might get away with just a memory upgrade, or perhaps a better CPU?
Basically, for a decent system you would need a Pentium "D" or equivalent running around 2.8 Ghz, with a minimal of 1 Gb system memory and a good video card with minimal 256 Mb of its own memory. Windows 2000, XP or Vista would be the OS.

You can always use this site for a quick look at requirements and to see if your computer will run a game:

I was thinking about getting this with the 9800. I am just trying to decide if tis worth spending 700-900 to play this game.

That looks like a fairly good deal, for a system that is nearly complete!
All you would have to add is a decent video card and OS.
But having such a system would improve play on all games that are W2K, XP or Vista compatible. Graphics would be very good, also!
And if you want to do photo editing or spreadsheets, they will just "pop" up in seconds!
