I love my 24" widescreen. I play just about all my games in full widescreen. Alyx in hl2 looks great :o Go for it, you will like the extra screen size.

...characters sometimes look a little overweight...

But so do the monsters/etc. overall a good move !

You really can't go wrong with the Samsung's. I just recently got an Acer 20" and love it. Best move I made going widescreen for gaming. :)

Samsung makes great LCD's. Just ignore the 226bw fiasco, they are still good monitors. I own a 226CW for gaming and absolutely love it.

Best advice is to make sure you can at least see it running before buying. Check out any local computer store and compare.
