i thought it was going to PC sometime in the 2nd quarter of 2008?

damn straight i'm getting it...i love that time period for history, plus i've always been a fan of the "silent hunter" genre of games - Splinter Cell, Hitman, Thief...etc..

When it comes to PC I will likely get it. I am also a huge fan of the Genre. Thief was one of my all time favorite games, as much for the stealth killing as the immersive story line.

I've been waiting for this game FOREVER. It's been on the top of my list for a long time and it sucks that it's been delayed until feb 08.

The delay might be a good thing since I have so many great games to play (COD4, HL2 Ep 2, UT3, TF2, etc...)

3rd person games are usually better on consoles, and I think this game might be better to play on consoles. I hope that's not the case, but I might finally buy a 360 and get this game first. AC will look great on my HDTV.

:P

I was a HUGE fan of the Splinter Cell series. Thats what made this game appeal to me. That and the fact that you can climb anything you can get your hand to grip.

I agree that 3rd person games are better on console, but to me, thats only because its easier to control. I tried playing Splinter Cell on my PC and keyboard is definitely not the way to go. However, I was thinking about buying a controller to use on the PC. Not sure how compatibility would factor in though.

Thats what I was thinking of getting. Control like a console, but all the benefits of PC. Not sure if it would work exactly the same though.

It'll be released for the PC sometime in the beginning quarter of '08

Not really true.

Exhibit A: Hitman Series

Exhibit B: MAFIA

These games are available on console & PC. But the PC versions are much better than the consoles.

Hence the word "usually". I agree about those games though. Exhibit C: Max Payne 1 and 2

The first reviews of Assassin's Creed are mixed with some 9+ and some ~7s, but I've come to realize that I'll never trust a 1up review so I won't count that one. Is it just me or is their rating scale not wacky? I've noticed they give out 6.5s and 7s to a lot of games that score 9+ at other sites.

I've heard the game is repetitive and just a good not great title. Reader reviews are above 9 pretty much every where and that usually matters more to me. Hopefully they'll improve AI with the PC version.

Here's a list of reviews:

IGN game them a bad review (7.7, but they talked as if it were a 5). Said there were a lot of good things, but also a lot that needed improvement. It didn't use all its potential.

well...nevermind about assassin's creed for me guys. :-|

came home from work to find my door and jamb destroyed. didn't even need to walk in to know...

digital camera - gone.
xbox360 - gone.
hd-dvd player - gone.
50" tv - gone.
original xbox games - gone.
360 games - gone.
random cash - gone.
family heirloom - gone.
my awesome surge protector/power strip - gone.
they even took my 360 box w/ the receipt and serials...

not gone:
my pcs (none of them even touched :-k ).
my laptop.
my wall-arm-mounted monitor.
my "troubleshooting" 15" lcd monitor (sitting on the floor disconnected).
my old xbox (although they did take my component connector w/ the tv...?)
my old "film" camera.
my dell axim.
my 7.1 receiver and all 8 speakers, as well as a hdmi dvd player)
my extra checkbooks.
my high-end trek hybrid bike.
my router and dsl modem.
all my movies - dvd/vhs.
my original NES, and all games.
all my misc computer components everywhere.

either way...probably close to 4-5 grand in total loss. worst part is my car was robbed just over 2 years ago not even 2 miles from where i live.

only good thing - i'm covered completely in insurance up to $20k w/ a $250 deductable.

i should get my replacement stuff (hopefully, at least some of it) this weekend. my mom works for the company that wrote my insurance, and knows the adjuster in the area personally...so, it should get processed tomorrow.

i had 4 local cops at my place - they took pictures of the damage, and the ransacking that took place...as well as some fingerprints (which are 99% sure to not come back w/ anything). detailed what i could about what was taken and the value - provided any serial numbers i could.

now i'll probably be getting some sort of deterance system...the stuff they did leave was pretty valuable, and might (worst-case scenario) warrant a return-visit. i hope to this time have some measures in-place to at least make them think twice... i plan on placing some wireless cams in conspicuous places, including placing sticker notifications of surveillance recording in-progress. my computers and (once replaced) home theater equipment will now all be secured by cable-locks directly to nearby walls via 2x4 loops.

i grew up in a town which never locked their doors at night. i even went to a college where we never had to lock our doors in our houses, or our cars at night - even when gone for the weekend. within 2 years of moving to "the city" i've been robbed twice...and people wonder why i don't want to live "IN" the city??

gotta love it.

Ah... life in Milwaukee.

All the stuff that was taken was stuff that can be unloaded quickly for cash or Crack. The stuff that was left, the computers, monitors, bike, and such wont fetch quick cash. Those are items that need specific buyers. Although if I were a criminal I would take the computers first and steal as much identity as I could... lots more money in that than peddling small quick cash items.

but on the upside, you still have your computers so You can still get AC when it comes out for PC. :P (Just to stay on topic)
