Hi all.

What are some real good "scare the crap out of you" games out there? I need a break from shooters and slashers.

Almost every game will loose its "scare" effect on the third or fourth playing. You sort of expect the events! Any newer game that touts on AI will have more unpredictable replay results. In those versions, the sprites are randomly located, so you don't find them in the same position on every restart.
Our 'front page' will have reviews of newer games, as does 3D Gamers and other sites. Your choice as to venue.

Silent Hill 3 or 4. Can be found pretty cheap on e-bay. I'm playing 3 right now, and it's been real enjoyable with a PS2 style gamepad. Play it at night, with no other lights on and the sound turned up. (preferably after a few drinks too) It will freak you out.

If you like playing older classics and don't mind the dated graphics, check out Clive Barker's Undying. It's a quality game..8) Pretty scary too.

Condemned Criminal Origins is a good one also.
