Does anyone still play Battlefield 1942?

I'd like to start playing it again online if possible.

I have:

Battlefield 1942 (2002) and expansions: The Road to Rome & Secret Weapons of WWII

What files / patches do I need to have to install it completely and have it work?
Patches?
Maps /Map Packs?
Mods: Desert Combat?
Battlecraft (version ?)
Other modding tools?

Is there a good site to get what I need? Many of the old ones are gone or moved.

Does this seem possible?

You would have to join a server group. The process has changed from the original theme, with a different gaming provider now running the playing field. A link to active servers here..

Ensure your firewall and AV are fully active, as hackers "fish" these sites! Any add-ons or mods to your system, set a block as "ask first"!
Disable any background programs that are not needed for the game time. And while wireless keyboards and mice are convenient, there may be a few microseconds delay in response.. which may be cause for your losses.
Get any needed features or programming from trusted sites.. some 'free' gaming sites can swamp you with "buy this or that".
Recommended is a video card with at least 1 GB of dedicated memory, a lot of pixel pipes.. and maybe 2 GB of system memory, at least. Google has a lot of links if searching for play options.

Desert Combat is the mod I played most often. What is the latest version to get? Are there any other good mods?

Best source for latest version, add-ons/maps is the original site.. or trusted gaming blogs that suggest mods.
Instead of joining those gaming blogs, just browse as a 'guest'. You may have to join some, and give private info. Provide only what you think required, no home phone #s or street address! An area zip code or town name is sufficient. "Too much info" can target you for scammers. The COA or license # for the game may be required for authenticity.
Cheating if playing games by yourself against yourself is condoned a bit. But with on-line gaming, cheating is an ungodly sin.. and you can be banned from any other game sites! "Black listed" players names spread fast.

Wow! I didn't think I'd meet the people here who've been playing it until now. The game resources that are gathered here are getting more and more popular now. Many people want to not only play games during the pandemic and financial crisis, but also to make money at the same time. After all, no one knows how long the difficult situation in many countries, so it is worth thinking about the future already in advance.

Battlefield and COD are the classics of shooters. So yes, on and off I play it with my cousins not long ago I also discovered Valorant.
