I have a brand new Samsung T3 portable 500gb SSD. I have had it for 2 or 3 years if not longer and have never used it or plugged it in. Going to finally use it if I can.
Make - Samsung T3 portable 500gb SSD
Model # MU-PT500B

Can I use this on my Windows 10 Pro 64 bit PC?

I'm guessing I may have to format it once I plug it in? My question is what file format should I format it to?

Thanks

No need to format it, just make a partition on it. Filesystem-wise I'd let Windows 10 do it's thing. I bet if you power off, connect the thing, power on, windows will ask you to make the drive useable, let it do so.

I will do what you say. Just so I know, what would the file system format be? Usually its Fat 32 and not NTFS no ????

Thanks

NTFS - Windows 10 will try and avoid formatting in Fat32, it would rather use exFat - to do with GPT (for drives over 2Tb). I had to use RUFUS to create bootable FAT32 drives and Easus to make Fat32 hard drives (for removal).
