If you are doing black line drawings (architectural type) and text only, go laser. You get more value for money with laser. If you are using it for colour and photograph orientated stuff look at inkjet. I use Epson 3800's at work for colour and they give excellent results. The downside is cartridges are not cheap and they are grindingly slow. The Lexmark laser printer used for other stuff gives excellent fine quality print outs but is A4 only, the Hp's are pretty poor. A lot goes on paper too. Cheap paper gives poor results, even on text. For the more important stuff, I use quality paper which gives vastly superior results (less bleeding into paper or grain shown when closely inspected).

Quick search did not turn up any suitable links. Some 17" x 24" links but price was up over $3500.00 USD for B/W!
Check Amazon, Pronto, Staples and other sites.. maybe even a shopper's club like Costco or BJ's. eBay?
Buyer Zone wants a lot of info about your printer needs.. but might be a good lead.
Epson, HP, Xerox are wide-format printer sources too.
