I just fried my mobo & am looking a replacement upgrade before xmas.

I'd like to re use everything else apart from getting a new CPU probably (previous being an i3 dual core).

gfx card: ATI Radeon HD 6850 PCI-E 1GB
ram: 4gb PC10666 DDR3/1333mhz Dual Channel Memory
cpu cooler: Asetek 510LC / Xtremegear Liquid Cooling system w/ 120mm Radiator

I've been told getting a Z77 is a possibility. I just want the same functionality, compatibility with the above bits & supporting a newer cpu.

Welcome to Motherboards.org.
Specs link on that Asus model.. http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8P67M/specifications/

Try to stay as close as possible to the chipsets and features intent of the motherboard. Otherwise, the OS may consider itself cloned or pirated, and go belly-up.
What caused the motherboard to "fry".. a bad PSU or power surge? Replace the PSU with a quality unit anyway.
Hope the video card and memory did not get blown away with the death throes.

Thanks for your reply. Getting an additional windows licence is not an issue if it comes to it. I tried out some new DDR3 RAM and when I booted up I smelled burning plastic, switched off then on next reboot got the flashing red led on the motherboard.

you tried some new DDR3 and the motherboard goes up in flames. Can you please give brand/model of that DDR3 so nobody else will make the same mistake? Also quite strange to have everything burn with just adding RAM.

As for the board, anything with a Px7/Qx7 and micro-ATX form factor should work.
