All in one motherboard recommendation wanted

Postby banny » Wed Nov 13, 2002 1:22 pm

I need to upgrade an office computer to, say, an Athlon XP 2000. Can anyone recommend an all-in-one motherboard incorporating sound and graphics.

I have used a PC Chips M841LMR in one computer which seems ok, but any better ones.

Thanks

I can get the ASUS A7N266-VM (here in UK). As I have a lot of spare PC133 SDRAM I want to use it temporarily. Can I do so in this M/B?

As long as the M/B has onboard graphics and sound and is a decent performer it doesn,t matter too much. It will only be for an office based machine running Windows XP, Office Xp, payroll etc.

Any help appreciated (I'm no expert!)

the a7n266vm is a ddr only mobo, however... if you can pony up for the ram, the mobo is an excellent choice... i have built several systems with it and other nforce chipsets, and am about to upgrade to the asus nforce2 board, apologies to the via and intel fans, but this is the best chipset on the market..... IMHO. (alright, im not humble about it, the chipset rocks, period! = )

How about the BioStar M7VIG? It has O/B sound, video AND lan... Also takes either SDR or DDR and has a 4x AGP slot for future upgrading. Built my daughter's machine with this one... Very good board.
