i recently wanted to make a clean install of windows xp pro and the problem was that windows tells me that "it could not find the end user licensing report" or something to this effect . i have previously upgraded from windows me to xp pro with no problems but i wanted to make a clean install . could somebody tell me what this is all about

Is your copy of XP Pro an Install or Ugrade disk?

well to tell you the truth i'm not quite sure , but when i upgraded from windows me it gave me two options either a new installation or an upgrade . maybe you can help me here .

I think the upgrade disk will even do a complete install...but it has to check for existing versions first...
Install ME and choose the option for full install. It should destroy the data on the machine and they install XP.
