Just checked out the website for Redhat 8.0. I gotta say it looks pretty sweet.
Has anyone tried it yet? I was gonna download it but the ftp server was so freakin slow!!!!! :roll:

Actually it is pretty bitchin. We just installed it on a 1200US machine and the only thing it complained about was the IPAQ networking PC Card. But the Linksys works great.
Everything auto-configures...its perfect for the desktop user.

$39.99 for the personal edition! Looks like Redhat is getting aggressive in their pricing scheme. I wonder if this distibution will give windows a run fior the money. :?:

Your the man!! Redhat's ftp site was about 4 KB/sec now I am zipping along at 35 KB/sec :) . I just finished another box this morning, loaded win9x on it for lack of something better to do. I can't wait to try this. I might be buggin you over the installation though. :) I am defineitely a lnux wannabe. :roll: So many wants, so little time.

Burned the ISO's last night, installed rh8.0 on the PC. I have a slight problem when it starts the xwindow, it hangs up, and there is sits :roll:

I also downloaded all the manuals for that distro, over 1,000 pages of information 8O

Time to R.T.F.M. :lol:
