New motherboard do I need to reload windows

Postby sparkydog » Sun Sep 29, 2002 8:04 pm

I'm giong to install a new motherboard thats made for windows xp so it will be compatable with the opperating system. Can I reinstall windows xp after the swap, I'm tring to avoid a complete new install so I can save my existing settings, downloads ect. Is there anything I need to do before the reinstall?
Currently win xp reboots alot at startup and doesn't shut down,my motherboard is the only thing that isn't compatable with xp. I have already updated all the drivers and win xp service pak 1. I'm tring to fix these last problems with a motherboard upgrade.
Thanks. :)

You can reload the operating system over the existing install....

Absolutely NO garrentee that the extra software will remain intact (i.e. downloads, etc....)
