thats right.....wopdy do....my friend has XP pro, he burned it for me back in January, i installed in over ME(COMPAQ INSTALLED , ME)...worked fine w/ updates and everything...no since i reformated my Hard drive..i installed it fresh........no problems until crusing the net, everyone in a while, i need something from "java"....relatince to java scrpit.....so, it says itll install...it says it doesnt provide this service anymore(here i get questionable)...

So i want to update my XP w/ the first Service pack.....then it says the CD key is invaild..now if my memory serves me right, i dont even remember putting one in......i didnt think u needed one for the Professional XP.....thats what ive read(i think, that damn memory $%^!@# is getting to me at a young age).......

Ive seen licences for sale for XP, are these CD keys w/ out the CD?

Thanks for all the help, you will save me a headach, and $200 for XPhome, if this doesnt work
