Bus mastering not supported

Postby lhoepner » Sun Sep 22, 2002 8:50 am

I am running a Gateway 2000 with Win 95. It has been upgraded using an evergreen kit to 200mhz from the original 75mhz. I upgraded the BIOS yesterday so it would accept larger hard drives and have been attempting to get the filecopy done to make the change. In the middle of this the primary IDE controller quits working properly and the message shown is Intel PIIX PCI IDE Controller (Bus mastering not supported) under which the primary controller has the typical yellow marker and the secondary controller is just fine. The machine comes up on the original hard drive running in DOS compatibility mode and does not recognize the second hard drive (BIOS does on startup). How do I correct this?
