Went the upgrade route on a Dell Inspiron 17 non touch laptop. Upgrade took about 2 hours with no issues during the upgrade. Did have one "Unknown Device" in Device manager. Did the upgrade driver, search hard disk, and found the driver for Broadcom Virtual wireless adapter, but Windows says there is an issue with the driver working. I suspect it's related to Bluetooth. At this time, it's not a problem for me.

Tried to update TurboTax 2013, and wireless adapter disconnected from my network. Connected again, and update worked. Bug report filed on this.

More later.......

O.K., been using the upgraded Dell for a few days. Running smoothly with no other issues. I like the return of the start menu. When I click on "Start", I get the start menu, and drastically reduced amount of tiles. Not sure why, but "Charms" bar doesn't appear anymore. Didn't really use it anyway. Don't have a tablet I'm willing to experiment with at this time.

The Charms bar was killed.

It seems overall it is a pleasant experience so I might be inclined to sacrifice some hardware to the new windows...

Charms bar can be found using Windows key+c
Overall, as an intermediate user, I like Windows 10, so far.

I imaged both laptops first, so nothing at risk.

Just had a major update, took almost an hour. Build number stayed the same though. Seems like Windows 10 does a better job of memory management/usage. Have 4Gb memory with 3.87Gb available, with no open programs/apps/windows. Should run well on tablets and phones.
Too bad I can't try it on my Galaxy Tab 2 Android.....

Have no intention of doing online banking with any pre-beta/developer software.

best line:

...if you do your online banking on a prerelease test version of Windows with an experimental build of Internet Explorer, you deserve what you get.

*Update*
After going from build 9841 to build 9860, I noticed Microsoft Solitaire pack and Microsoft Mahjongg no longer work. Hang on "Logging on" then minimize to tray.
Netflix would throw a configuration error, but that was an 8.1 issue also; fixed by disabling audio enhancements
Brighthouse TV app loads fine, but video opens frozen. After the netflix fix it works fine.

2 updates later,(build 9860 and 9879) and the only issues I have, is after resuming from sleep/restart/cold boot, I have to manually start the Print Spooler service, and number lock is off. No more new builds this year, have to wait till after the new year......
