Regarding XP Pro SP3:

Just noticed this. Went to manually update Windows and I got the following message:


[Error number: 0x800A0007]
The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. The options provided below might help you solve the problem.


What is causing this? Thanks

Try the Methods provided below and check if the issue persists.

Method 1:

Try to boot the system in clean boot state and then try to perform Windows Update.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" state

Steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state

After you used the clean boot to resolve your problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

Click Start, and then click Run.
Type msconfig, and then click OK.
The System Configuration Utility dialog box is displayed.
Click the General tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services, and then click OK.
When you are prompted, click Restart to restart the computer.

Check your hosts file to make sure it hasn't been messed with.
And run a spyware scan just to be safe,
