Upgrade or Clean Install of Vista?

I'm considering an "upgrade" from XP Home Edition to Vista, because I want to get a media extender such as the Linksys 2200, which requires Vista. Here's a link to the product:

I'm considering Vista Home Premium. I am wondering if I should purchase a full version of it, or an upgrade version. With prior OS's, I know that a clean, full install was usually better. Any thoughts here? Thanks.

I don't know about the others, but I always do a clean install................. 8)

You should be able to do that with the upgrade version as well, only thing is that during the install process somewhere it will ask you for a older version of Windows CD.............. PDT_Armataz_01_03

Always a clean install. Saves a lot of potential problems later.

If anyone has done an upgrade to Vista (not a clean install) and can comment on their experience, I'd like to know about it. Doing a clean install would be a lot of work, and I'd like to believe that the upgrade can work out fine. Thanks.

Doing an upgrade from XP kills your XP license, so once you upgrade there's no going back.

Doing a clean install will prevent this and imho a clean install is always better!

Not sure if Vista will be happy with your Creative sound card, Heard a lot of complaints about the drivers having issues.

Besides, M$ would always suggest that you build a brand new computer each time you upgrade OS... :wink:

Vista would be happy with the drivers from http://www.soundblaster.com. I have an Audigy2 NX and it's fine.
