Windows 10 update unleased the Icon Arrows. :(

Postby BIGMAN131307 » Sun Nov 26, 2017 5:09 am

Over a year ago I was able to get rid of those pesky desktop icon arrows. I think I used Classic Start Menu or Tweak UI.

But after a recent Windows 10 update the arrows are back. :(

From what I can see in Classic Start Men there are no settings to remove them.

How do I get rid of these icon arrows permanently?

Any feature on the desktop that is truly in that folder has no 'shortcut' arrow. But any URL site or feature link will.
Here is a more complicated way, if you are confident with Registry editing:
https://www.windowscentral.com/how-get- ... windows-10
And yet another..
https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows ... ows-vista/
This quote from "How To Geek" may be simpler..
To remove arrows from shortcut icons with Ultimate Windows Tweaker, choose the Customization section on the left, click the File Explorer tab, and then click “Remove Shortcut Arrows From Shortcut Icons.” To put them back, follow the same process. The button will now be named “Restore Shortcut Arrows To Shortcut Icons.”Mar 2, 2016

With any editing of the Registry, do a backup copy first!

Thx, that helped a lot. I forgot that I had Ultimate Windows Tweaker on my PC.

I did a quick search and it found it. :)
