I have the same BIOS string for:
Azza P4X2-AV
Azza P4XA-AV
Azza P4XA-BV
But the OEM Sign-On is different:
P4X2-AV.B16 FOR P4X2-AV / P4XA-AV / P4XA-BV
B20 BIOS version is available.
I have no notice about any P4VX2AD or P4VXAAD, maybe is known as PX266-AV (P4X2-AV).
So if you want to try I can send you the file, at your own risk.

Dear Kuriaki,

I have a mobo p4xa-av with bios 4x2-av.b16 serial 2/28/2001-p4x266-8233-6a6lwp8bc-00

OS is XP-SP2

I'm experiencing RAM problems (CPU crash, blue screen etc.) and Microsoft recommended me to upgrade the bios.

Bios serial digits p8 indicate Azza however msinfo32 utility reports Via Technologies as the system producer.

Anyway I would like to try upgrading the bios to a newer version.

Would you please send me the file p4x2-av.b20 (i appreciate if you can send also other versions after published after b20, if you have)

With best regards,
Murat Tologlu

I'd check the ram first with memtest86 before updating the bios

If you are using windows 98 or Windows Me you should not fit more than 512MB of ram, if you want to use more install windows 2000 or XP or Vista.

Dear Sirs,

I have the same problems like mtologlu.
My BIOS parameters are:
BIOS Name : Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
BIOS ID : 6A6LWP8B
Azza BIOS : Yes
BIOS CopyRight : Copyright (C) 1984-2001, Award Software, Inc.
Boot Block : Yes
Media Size : 256Kb (2 Mbit)
Product String : 09/28/2001-P4X266-8233-6A6LWP8BC-00
BIOS Product Date : 09/28/2001
Signon String : 09/28/2001 P4X2-AV FOR P4X2-AS / P4X2-AV (Y2KREADY)
BIOS Release Date : 09/28/2001
CPU :
GenuineIntel x86 Family 15 Model 1 Stepping 2 1497MHz
OS : Windows XP 5.1 2600 Szervizcsomag 3
Memory : Total Physical Memory: 1024 MB

I thinking about updating the BIOS with P4X2-AV.B20 file downloaded from Windrivers site. Do you have any experinces with this file?
Did anyone update with it?
Thanks for the answer,
toge from Hungary
