Bios pass protect

Postby maddmaxx » Sat Sep 07, 2002 3:59 pm

:( Ok, before I get flamed I want to say that this laptop was given to me. That said, the problem is that the bios was pass protected by the previous owner who is now deceased, so I can't ask them what it is unless I call John Edwards. ( Crossing over). It's a Dell Inspiration 7500 with Pheonix bios and I have tried; Taking out the battery and unplugging the ac power supply. Looking for jumpers in every orafice this thing has with a magnifying glass. Backdoor passwords and Madame Cleo. Anybody know how to clear the bios on this thing? Thanks for any help you can give.

As far as I know laptop computers don't have clear cmos jumpers. Your going to have to disconnect the battery from the board to get passed the BIOS...

Contact the nearest Dell service point and explain your situation...
