PLEASE HELP - SETTINGS

Postby sabry_a » Tue Aug 27, 2002 8:02 am

I have an Award Bios, under Advanced Chipset Settings, the DRAM timing can be set to these settings.
What do they mean????????

Bank 0/1 DRAM Timing ------>SDRAM 10ns (default)
SDRAM 8ns
Normal
Medium
Fast
Turbo

I have two dimm's 100mhz ,133mhz how can I set the speed they run?
Does the above setting have something to do with it?????

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ns --- this is parameters aboiut DRAM speed . 10 NS the worse , 8NS the better ( put the worse to ensure the better compatibility , i dont know the characteristics of your DRAM ... )

put normal .

No the above settings have nothing to do with DRAM clock . Dram clock is indeed usually found in " Advanced chipset feature " but sometimes it can be found in " frequency/voltage control" ( which concerns mainly processors FSB and voltage . processors FSB is linked with DRAM clock because processors FSB cannot be higher than DRAM clock )
see if if it is ur case

Another tip is that you say you have one module at 100mhz and another at 133. Well they will both be running at 100 so you may want to upgrade the slower one. Just a thought.
