Is there somewhere a Source of that Biosfiles ?
I'm playing around with an Socket 7 Board and found out, that it was in the supporting List of Mr-Bios (like here http://www.kva.kursk.ru/bios1/HTML1/mrbios.html)

It's a SL-586V (from San Li and others)
Intel VX-Chipset, Award Bios String 2A59GSM9C, matches the V09AB5WK Number in the Mrbios-List.

I've also found some Downloads (http://www.giffer.com/public/dos/pmut3/mut30021.htm Site 21-27, the biggest Collection I've found),
but unfortunately, the needed Version is not there,
and Mr-Bios doesn't exist anymore, afaik ;)

What are you trying to achieve by updating the BIOS?

Aside of the technic-historical Experience,
a Hope of a better Compatibility with Qemm, especially the Stealth Mapping Mode,
who doesn't work with the Award-Bios.

It should become some kind of a "high-end" Retro-System (Dos, WfW and so on)

Well the other alternative is BadFlash.
http://www.badflash.com/

But I haven't contacted them in years.

There is a BIOS "update" on a backup of my old site that Evasive is hosting but I am pretty sure its still Award based

Badflash sells their own BIOS. I don't recall what its based on but its worth giving them a call.

Also you might want to check out WIMSBIOS
http://www.wimsbios.com

They are more specialized in that area then we are.

Other BIOS replacement companys:
http://www.biosman.com/
http://www.ultrabios.com/
http://badbiosflash.com/

the qemm issue can be the result of sub-standard memory or overclocking the board. badflash is using award/phoenix bios.

There was another company I remember that made their own. It was something like BIOS 2000. I distinctly remember the 2000 part...

Worth a try? http://motherboards.mbarron.net/bios.html
The site notes that there may be two BIOS types.. one for Intel, another for non-Intel designs. The page notes that another site handles the MR BIOS updates.. http://biosagentplus.com/?ref=831
If the mobo has a spare PCI slot, then perhaps an add-on controller card would bypass the antiquity of the older BIOS hard drive restrictions.
You would not gain any real improvements with a BIOS update, as to system performance, newer memory or faster CPU.
