Error 50 IP 35 Pro

Postby SanDiegoPaul » Thu Mar 04, 2010 7:20 am

My trusty old IP35-Pro stopped booting yesterday. I look at the digital readout, and it stops at 50, which the manual says is 'initialize USB.' A google search of the error says to disable the 5V jumper for the USB. There is no such jumper on this board.

So what would cause a board to fail the POST all of a sudden for this error? I pulled the USB mouse out and tried booting over & over again with no USB ports taken, but still no luck.

Resetting the CMOS had no change either, except for making it display the Abit full screen logo again, just as out of of the box.

When was the last time you changed the BIOS battery? They have a life of about 3~4 years, depending on use. If the battery is weak, and the system goes off line power, the CMOS memory can default to other than what you have set in the BIOS pages.
Try the easiest fixes first.. like replacing the battery if suspect, as well as ensuring all BIOS pages are listed according to how the system is built.
F@H.. to solve mankind's maladies.. in our lifetimes!
