Which is the Bios chip on my Lenovo T431s motherboard?

Postby Davey Strong » Sun Oct 01, 2017 2:09 am

Hi. Can anyone help me identify which is the main bios chip on my Lenovo T431s motherboard. Please see high res picture here:

I have bought a replacement chip and the two chips I've circled in the picture are the only two that are the same size. I beleive one is the main bios and one is the EC. I cannot find any detailed imformation online about this motherboard.

Thanks.

They both look like MOSFETS (DC - DC converter)to me. The BIOS IC is probably the 8 pin IC in line with the top of the CMOS battery. A good close up round the battery may clear it up.
I have been programming on computers since the ZX81.
I am an apprentice trained Electronics Engineer with qualifications to back it up.
I have been repairing computers since 1996.
Yet to some people I still know nothing...
