Elpina? Tyan? I'm confused.

Postby boheemee » Thu May 30, 2002 4:43 pm

:?: I need some help, please. The bios string is:
06/21/96 I430VX-2A59Ht5BC-00 it's Award Bios. The board has 4 ISA, 3 PCI, 4x72 pin simm, & 1x168 pin dimm. It's a socket 7 board, AT form factor. The thing that confuses me is that from what I could find the bios id's it as a Tyan board, yet on the back side of the board it says Elpina. I would like to find a manual for this board if possible. I need to know if it supports P200MMX. Any help would be appreciated, thanx. :?

My dad used to have that board and i remember the hell i went through trying to figure out what it was....i don't think i ever figured it out, but i still have a copy of the manual. It will support a pentium 200, but the book doesn't say anything about mmx one way or the other. Its only 33 pages, maybe i can scan it and send you the images.

Elpina is PC Chips..... :|

Edit TS-XX-XXXX motherboards are TopSearch (another PC Chips close), not Elpina

So apparently when you get a BIOS string that matches like 50 motherboards (i.e. Elpina, PCchips, Amptron..................) it automatically a PCchips board????

I know that Amtron is part of PCchips, but I did not know Elpina was too!!! 8O
