Can't Identify the Mother Board

Postby slicxwliqw » Fri Aug 09, 2002 12:23 pm

I've used the BIOS id but the results do not show. I get an error on the page saying that it cannot display the results.

this is my bios id string

51-0505-001437-00111111

can someone help me find a location where i can find the name of this motherboard. Or if someone knows the motherboard name... that would be a bonus...

thanx.

That is a string from a PC Chips Motherboard. But it is incomplete.
Post the entire string from the boot screen, or post a complete description of the motherboard (# of PCI/ISA slots, chipset, etc..) and we can ID it from there...

Manual:
same as the link above
=============================================
M565 (51-0505-001437-00111111-071595-M1531/43-001_10_TX_PRO-H) OR (51-0505-001437-00111111-071595-M1531/43-001_10_-H (M565 v1.2))

Same page as the two links above.

NOTE
The M560 & M565 are almost Identical except for the amount of onboard cache memory.....If I remember correctly the M560 has 512K of cache and the M565 has 1 MB of cache.

M560TG and 565 are nearly identical not M560 and 565 .
Cache Info is correct .
But without complete Bios-ID with chipset info it's better to search in the Pcchips Lottery for the Board :

It is in fact the M560TG and the M565 that are similar. And Deniss, If you had enough sense to do a google search with the provided part of the BIOS string. You would find out that the boards I have shown are what match the partial string provided.

The full bios is:

Postby slicxwliqw » Mon Aug 12, 2002 10:18 pm

This is the full bios string:

51-0505-001437-00111111-071595-m1531/43-001_10_-0

I haven't seen a bios string in my search. I've used google and copernic for this.
It will make a difference....

The complete string is used by PCChips M560/560TG/565/575

The lottery is still your best bet.

Geesh I must be a blooming idiot or something. 8)

If you notice the very last component of the BIOS string ONLY matches the M560 (V 3.1)

www.plasma-online.com look at the M560 (v3.1), M560TG, M565, M575.

THERE IS ONLY 1 EXACT MATCH!!!

Toby why do you fly off at the handle whenever anybody questions or corrects your posts?

I've been doing this for years and I can still make dumb mistakes at times, it happens, you just have to cop it sweet and eat humble pie.

If you notice the very last component of the BIOS string ONLY matches the M560 (V 3.1)

The quoted string:-
51-0505-001437-00111111-071595-m1531/43-001_10_-0
M560 V3.1 string:-
51-0505-001437-00111111-071595-M1531/43-01-10-TX-PRO-0

You call this an EXACT MATCH!!!

So you are basing your whole argument on the fact that both strings end in 0?

Now while the board in question might very well be an M560 you don't know this for sure so there's no point in getting off your hobby horse when somebody, who has been doing this for far longer than you have, points out that the board may in fact be something different to what you have suggested.

You don't appear to take criticism very well Toby and that's not a good thing for any Mobo Fu Master wannabe.
